What's a Legit "Rock N Rad" Vehicle?

We've been asked what qualifies as a Rock N Rad era Car?  Does it have to be built between January 1, 1980 and December 31 1999.

No.

Emphatically, NO.

From the outset our entire team agreed that certain vehicles that where iconic in the 80's actually had their roots in earlier years.  Certain cars that became iconic after the year 2000 where created in the 1990's.

So what qualifies?
If the vehicle model was sold in the 1980's or 1990's an didn't have significant design changes prior to  or after that period, then we would welcome it to Rock N Rad,  The Trans Am Gen 2 shown above was  sold in the early 80's before the Gen 3 was introduced.  The Gen 2 underwent several facelifts and that's where it gets a bit tricky.  Ideally we want 80's and 90's cars in the show but if it's on the edge or the model has not have any significant changes from an earlier or later period, then it is welcome to be in the show.  

So, yea, that '78 TA pictured above is welcome.

Another example of a vehicle that is welcome is the Viper.  All the generations of the Dodge Viper are welcome to attend because the did not undergo a dramatic design change in the basic line of the car.

The Viper was initially conceived in late 1988.  In July 2017, Fiat Chrysler announced they would be permanently closing the Viper Assembly Plant on August 31, 2017.  The last Viper is a welcome as the first. 

All Gen 4 Chevy Malibus that were introduced in 1978 and ran until 1983 are acceptable. A 1977 Mailibu Gen 2 does not qualify for Rock N Rad.  That doesn't mean it's not a cool car, it just means its not the period of car for our show.  

Not to worry though! We will have an adjoining parking area for the other cool cars! We hope that helps you understand what we're looking for.  It's and 80's ~ 90's cars show so we'll like to stick with the theme. We can't wait to see what you bring!!
